Description

World Usability Day Introduction

Dr. Sanda Erdelez, Associate Professor & IE Lab Director

Is usability really so important that it has its own world day? Remember all the things you have seen and tried that weren’t usable (or useful)? Remember all the websites you’ve visited (and departed) that weren’t usable? This introductory presentation will explain how the IE Lab team works on improving information experience through better website usability.

Expert Review

Xin Wang & Jiazhen Wang, IE Lab Coordinators

In this session, we will introduce the usability method of Expert Review.  In an expert review, usability specialists evaluate a web site following established usability principles, known as heuristics. We will explain our expert review process and further explain the main criteria in the heuristics checklist. Additionally, we’ll cover a case study from a previous IE Lab project.
